Congregation of St. Joseph, New Orleans-Houma associates, are collecting items for the homeless served by Lantern Light and Hurricane Ida victims in Terrebonne Parish.

➤ WHAT’S NEEDED: For Lantern Light: Toiletry items (soap, deodorant, toothpaste) canned food (tuna, fruit, Vienna sausage, 16-ounce peanut butter), cereal, pasta (1 lb.), rice (1-2 lb. packs), black pants and white shirts.

For hurricane victims: Standard-size pillows, full and queen sheet sets, blankets, plastic drink cups, utensils, toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen towels, coffee pots, soap, shampoo, conditioner and deodorant are requested. ➤ DEADLINE: Items can be delivered to the People Program, 2240 Lakeshore Drive in New Orleans, on June 3 between 8 a.m. and noon. ➤ CALL: (504) 284-7678.

LANTERN LIGHT MINISTRY sponsors its third annual gala, “Strolling Through New Orleans: Lantern Light Visits the Sounds of the Big Easy,” June 3, 7-10 p.m. Music from Deacon John Moore and the Ivories. MASS FOR LIFE, June 10,  6:30 p.m., celebrated by Archbishop Gregory Aymond and Father Ajani Gibson.
