The Secretary of Health of Mexico City, Oliva López Arellano, reported that in the capital of the country the recommendation to use face masks inside schools will be maintained, to avoid contagion of coronavirus covid-19, before the return to face-to-face classes planned for on Monday, August 29.In an interview with MILENIO Televisión, she explained that the recommendation is that the face mask be used in closed spaces, such as the classroom;however, you can choose to stop using it outdoors.She mentioned that schools should promote frequent handwashing, so they should ensure the availability of soap and water and install hand-drying equipment.However, she stressed that it will no longer be necessary to take the temperature and sanitizing mats at the entrance, but antibacterial gel should be applied at the entrance and in the rooms.The capital official said that it is not mandatory for teachers to be vaccinated against covid-19, but she stressed that it is important that they have their complete scheme and the booster dose to prevent them from developing serious symptoms in case of infection.Likewise, she commented that there is currently 97 percent vaccination coverage against covid-19 for people seven years of age and older and 87 percent in the application of booster doses, in addition to continuing to immunize laggards.She indicated that in the case of minors, so far only boys and girls aged seven to 11 have been vaccinated against covid, according to the availability of Pfizer's pediatric biological.And now they are waiting for vaccines to be assigned for children under five and six years of age.
