A company that owns a Brownsville warehouse used to store pallets of hand sanitizer is on notice.

Brownsville firefighters responded to a fire at that warehouse last month – and officials say two more fires have reignited since.

People who live and work around the warehouse, located on the 1300 block of Cheers Street, said they’re concerned more fires will keep happening.

The Brownsville Fire Department told the company – Parker & Company – to clean up the mess and get the damaged hand sanitizer out of the area.

Some of the hand sanitizers stored there were previously recalled, officials said.

The Brownsville fire marshal and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said they want to know why the company left material like this out in the sun and humidity in the first place.
