Elmhurst Blotter: Four Chicago men allegedly caught in the act of stealing a catalytic converter from a vehicle – Chicago Tribune

The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Police patrolling the Larch Avenue parking deck just before midnight on Aug. 22 cited Kayla Matthews, 19, of the 1000 block of South York Road, Bensenville, for possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor and for prowling.

In the same incident, three people with her were also cited for prowling. They are:

Michelle Flores, 25, of the 1800 block of South 58th Avenue, Cicero;

Eliana Alvarez Cruceno, 19, of the 300 block of North Edgewood Avenue, Wood Dale; and

Kimberly Martinez Solis, 19, of the 1100 block of David Drive, Bensenville.

Irene Vela, 26, of the 900 block of South Leavitt Street, Chicago, was charged with domestic battery at 2:17 p.m. Aug. 24.

Michael D’Andrea, 58, of the first block of Howard Avenue, Hillside, was charged with burglary on Aug. 18.

Someone reportedly shattered the rear window of a vehicle on the 700 block of Prospect Avenue between 7 p.m. Aug. 23 and 5 p.m. Aug. 24.

Edmark Canto, 31, of the 1700 block of Haven Drive, Woodstock, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia at 1:58 a.m. Aug. 19.

Jose Aguilar, 21, of the 3100 block of North Richmond Street, Chicago, was cited for possession of cannabis by a driver and speeding at 10:59 p.m. Aug. 19.

Felipe Madera, 30, of the 21W500 block of North Avenue, Lombard, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of open alcohol at 1:47 a.m. Aug. 20

In the same incident, Monica Cezario, 21, of the 1500 block of North 31st Avenue, Melrose Park, was cited for possession of open alcohol and Rebecca Ramirez, 18, of the 1500 block of North 34th Avenue, Melrose Park, was cited for possession of open alcohol by a minor.

Marquis Scales, 40, of the 1900 block of North 17th Avenue, Melrose Park, was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license, possession of cannabis by a driver and for illegally tinted windows at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 20.

Kari Williams, 32, of the 2500 block of East 74th Street, Chicago, was cited for possession of cannabis by a driver and driving without insurance at 11:17 p.m. Aug. 21.

Raymond Hoang, 18, of the 300 block of South West Avenue, Elmhurst; Michael Ryan, 18, of the 300 block of Sandra Court, Glendale Heights and Jason Thomas, 18, of the 1100 block of Cedar Street, Glendale Heights, were each cited for possession of cannabis (by someone) under 21 years of age at 11:54 p.m. Aug. 21.

In the same incident, Mark Garcines, 18, of the 2000 block of Audubon Drive, Glendale Heights, was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor.

All four were also cited for loitering after police investigated a suspicious vehicle in the Addison Avenue parking deck, 149 N. Addison Ave.

Carlos Loria, 52, of the 800 block of South Hillside Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged with unlawful production or possession of cannabis at 12 p.m. Aug. 21. The charges stem from June, when police said “numerous cannabis plants were observed growing in the backyard” of his residence.

Otis Thompson, 50, of the 1800 block of Somerset Drive, Glendale Heights, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and with disorderly conduct at 3:27 p.m. Aug. 24.

Unia Young, 24, of the 3000 block of Kathleen Lane, Flossmoor, was charged with driving under the influence, obstructing justice, two counts of battery, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and improper lane use at 10:09 p.m. Aug. 18.

German Gomez, 31, of the 400 block of North Beverly Avenue, Villa Park, was charged with driving under the influence, unlawful possession of cannabis, improper lane use and illegally tinted windows at 12:18 a.m. Aug. 21.

Filberto Giron-Carrillo, 57, of the 400 block of North Highview Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a child passenger, driving without a valid driver’s license, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane use at 6:12 p.m. Aug. 22.

A resident reported Aug. 19 that an unknown offender opened a bank credit card account in his name. The resident reported the fraudulent activity to the bank.

A resident reported several unauthorized purchases on her debit card between Aug. 16 and Aug. 19.

Two Black females reportedly took merchandise from Kohl’s, 303 S. Route 83, about 7 p.m. Aug. 17 and left the area in a green Toyota Camry.

Street marking signs were discovered missing from the intersections of Maple and Grantley avenues and Grantley and Larch avenues at 10:23 a.m. Aug. 19.

Two teenage white males reportedly took a shirt and a pair of gym shoes from Goodwill, 675 W. North Avenue, at 4:02 p.m. Aug. 18.

An unknown offender reportedly took facial cream products from Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Dr., at 4:34 p.m. Aug. 19. The suspect was described as a white male in his twenties or thirties.

Tommy Lazzarini, 57, of the 4500 block of Keystone Avenue, Chicago, was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage to property at 10:35 a.m. Aug. 20 following the theft of a locked bicycle on the 100 block of West First Street.

Officers responding at 6:07 a.m. Aug. 21 to a report of a catalytic converter theft in progress on the 100 block of West Butterfield Road took four Chicago men into custody and charged each with two counts of possession of essential motor vehicle parts and obstructing a police officer. The four are:

Devin Gentry, 18, of the 600 block of West Leamington Avenue, Chicago;

Kevin Gentry, 19, of the same address;

Omarion Booker, 18, of the 4800 block of West Gladys Avenue, Chicago; and

Damarius Burnett, 19, of the 4200 block of West Wrightwood Avenue, Chicago, who was also charged with obstructing identification.

A catalytic converter was reported taken from a black Nissan van on the 900 block of South Route 83 between 5 p.m. Aug. 22 and 11:46 a.m. Aug. 23.

Nathaniel Vera, 32, of the 3700 block of South 59th Avenue, Cicero, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving without insurance, driving with expired registration and tinted windows at 9:56 p.m. Aug. 22.

Rosario Beltran, 67, of the 24500 block of West Eames Street, Channahon, was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license, driving without insurance and speeding at 2:45 p.m. Aug. 23.

Julius Boone, 60, of the 4900 block of Hillbrook Road, Memphis, Tennessee, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, unlawful display of registration and driving without insurance at 7:02 p.m. Aug. 23.

Hulon Ware, 28, of the 100 block of South York Road, Bensenville, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, unlawful possession of cannabis, driving with an improper bumper and with expired registration at 5:30 a.m. Aug. 24.

Oscar Colon, 29, of the 200 block of Tioga Avenue, Bensenville, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with expired registration and failing to use a seat belt at 7:56 p.m. Aug. 24.
