Actor José Dumont, 72, was arrested in Rio de Janeiro on suspicion of storing images containing sex involving children, a crime stipulated in article 241-B of the Statute of Children and Adolescents.

Dumont was already the subject of an investigation in an inquiry at the Precinct for the Child and Adolescent Victim for the crime of raping a vulnerable person. He was arrested in the apartment where he lived, in Flamengo.

According to the Civil Police, Dumont would have used his prestige as an actor to lure a 12-year-old teenage fan.

With over 40 years of career, he has acted in films, soap operas, and series.

He was in the cast of "Todas as flores" ( All the flowers), a soap opera to be streamed on Globoplay. After the arrest, TV Globo stated that they had decided to remove him from the project.
