HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Pacha Soap is continuing to grow in Hastings and around the world. The company gathered on Thursday morning to celebrate that growth which includes the acquisition of another personal care product line called “Hand-In-Hand”.

Pacha also welcomed a new supplier, J-Palm, for the oils needed to make their soaps. CEO Andrew Vrbas said going overseas for the supplier is on par with Pacha’s character.

“It’s neat to see how people from all over the world come here to Hastings to visit us at Pacha, we have people from all over the world that work for Pacha, and it’s been incredible to do that in the middle of the country and every time we have people come here, they love it and have an incredible experience,” Vrbas said. “I would say it has also allowed us to have a tight-knit culture, a good group of people here to grow and build our business.”

J-Palm CEO Mahmud Johnson was also in attendance on Thursday and noted the effect people can have by just buying a bar of soap.

“There is not much understood about the impact that’s being created half way around the world,” Johnson said. “I think that is important because consumers have choice, and the choice consumers make ultimately help to shape the world that we live in. For example, if somebody goes and they buy a bar of Pacha soap, some of the income flows back all the way back to Liberia into some village where some farmer there is able to live a better life.”

Johnson also told Local4 News he would like to work with farmers to make their efforts more efficient.
